Digital Photography

The innovation of digital photography has revolutionised the way we not only just take photographs or films of our loved ones, but has also made aspects of science, art and design much easier to accomplish. It has also been used in astrophotography for a long time before the technology became commercially available, which suggests that its initial purpose was more scientific than domestic. This is not to say that digital photography has limited application, as the reverse is true, especially when one considers all the possible uses a digital camera could have in their own lives.

One of the most popular uses of digital photography is its use in art and engineering. Architectural photography is one of these uses, which focuses on the photography of buildings, some of which have not been captured in such detail before due to either the exclusivity of the building, such as the Vatican, or the isolated nature of the structure. Some buildings have never even been captured on camera before, so when they are finally discovered they can be captured using the best technology available.

The use of digital photography in art has become particularly widespread, making amateur photography even more popular. It has made it easier to take precise photographs, and crucially to alter them for artistic purposes, which had been very difficult with film photography. New types of art have been invented as a result of this, including fractal imagery, which would not have been possible previously.
